How Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Can Help with Depression
When you’re living with depression, everything can feel heavier. Slower. Harder.
Find it difficult to get out of bed, to motivate yourself, or to even imagine feeling like you again?
Feel numb, disconnected, or constantly tired… no matter how much you sleep?
Perhaps you’ve stopped enjoying the things you used to love. Or maybe you’re just going through the motions, feeling stuck in a fog you can’t quite lift?
Whatever your experience looks like, know this: you’re not broken. And you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Understanding the Depressed Mind
Depression often occurs when we’ve been stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts, overwhelm, or emotional exhaustion for too long. The brain shifts into a more primitive, survival-based mode… focused on getting through the day, not planning for joy or fulfilment. It’s like being stuck in a loop of low motivation, low energy, and low hope.
The good news?
Our brains are wired to change. With the right support, that loop can be gently interrupted and replaced with something lighter, stronger, and more hopeful.
Where Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Comes In
Unlike traditional talk therapies that might ask you to explore painful memories or spend time analysing your past, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) takes a different approach. We focus on the present and your future. On what’s possible. On building up small, achievable steps that feel good and sustainable.
We combine uplifting, goal-oriented conversation with calming, therapeutic hypnosis to help quiet the noise of depression and reactivate the parts of your mind that know how to thrive. And over time, your mind begins to reconnect with clarity, creativity, and hope.
What Happens in a Session?
Each session is designed to feel safe, gentle, and empowering.
We’ll start by talking about your week… what’s been good (yes, there will be something, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet), an explanation of the brain to help you understand why you feel the way that you do, and then we look at what small and achievable goal you can set for the week ahead (this really doesn’t have to be big at all, it can be as simple as washing your face – if this has been something that has been to much to think about).
Then, I’ll guide you into a peaceful, natural state of focused relaxation, using trance, which helps your brain absorb those positive intentions at a deeper level. This process supports the brain’s natural ability to rewire itself, creating new thought patterns that are calmer, more balanced, and more uplifting.
There’s no pressure. No judgment. Just a clear path forward, at a pace that feels right for you.
