Healing Transformation: My Journey from Darkness to Light
Life has a funny way of challenging us at the most unexpected moments. For me, that challenge came after childbirth. While the world around me seemed to be moving forward with joy and excitement, I found myself in a very dark place. I felt overwhelmed, lost, and for a time, I didn’t even want to be here anymore. It was a period of deep despair, and it seemed like there was no way out.

But little did I know, this was just the beginning of my healing journey… a journey that would not only change my life but would ignite a passion to help others do the same.
The Turning Point: A Shift in Mindset
One of the first things that helped me start to break free from the darkness was a shift in my mindset. During this time, I stumbled upon The Chimp Paradox by Dr. Steve Peters. This book became a light in the darkness, showing me how my mind worked and how I could take control of it. The concept of the “chimp brain” – the emotional, impulsive part of our brain, resonated with me deeply. I realised that my thoughts, which had been consumed by negativity, could be challenged and shifted.
Along with The Chimp Paradox, I found solace in the audio of The Secret. This book introduced me to the idea of the law of attraction and the power of positive thinking. I began to realise that my thoughts and beliefs shaped my reality. Slowly but surely, I started to understand that I could change my mindset… and with it, change my life.
Reiki: A Healing Pathway
Despite my growing understanding of the power of the mind, I knew I needed more to truly heal. That’s when I found Reiki, and more importantly, I found Amy… an amazing friend and healer. My Reiki sessions with Amy were like nothing I had ever experienced. Reiki, a form of energy healing, helped me release emotional blocks and negative energy that had been weighing me down.
However, my healing was not instantaneous. It wasn’t a magic fix that “clicked” all at once. It took time, patience, and an openness to healing. Every session with Amy helped me peel back layers of hurt and pain. Through Reiki, I was able to tap into a deeper sense of peace, calm, and clarity. It was as if my body and soul were remembering how to heal themselves, and Reiki helped guide me on that path.
The Role of Connection and Community
Another key part of my healing transformation was interacting with others. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and I found support in the most unexpected places. Whether it was sharing my struggles with friends, finding new connections, or simply being around people who lifted me up, these interactions allowed me to open up and feel seen and heard.
Surrounding myself with people who understood me and supported me played a huge role in shifting my perspective. I began to understand the importance of community, compassion, and kindness… not just toward others but toward myself.

As I continued my Reiki sessions, interacted with others, and worked on shifting my mindset, I saw my life slowly begin to transform. It wasn’t a quick fix; it was a gradual, ongoing process. I had to be patient with myself and trust the process. Today, I can say that I am truly happy with the person I’ve become. The woman I am now is so far removed from the one I was after childbirth. I’ve learned to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and I’ve discovered an inner strength I never knew I had.
My journey has taught me that healing is not a destination but a continuous process. Every day, we have the opportunity to grow, evolve, and transform. With the right mindset, support, and healing tools, we can all create the life we desire… just as I have.
