Support for Postnatal Depression with Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Becoming a mother is often described as one of life’s most magical experiences…but the truth is, it can also feel incredibly overwhelming, isolating, and emotionally heavy.

This image is me and my little one just after I had him, I suffered for over a year with Postnatal Depression and I did not know it.

If you’re struggling with postnatal depression, you might feel like you’re supposed to be happy, but inside you’re drowning in sadness, guilt, or exhaustion.
You may feel disconnected from your baby, from yourself, or from life in general.
Some days you might just be going through the motions, wondering if things will ever feel easier again.

If this sounds like you, please know that you are not alone and it’s not your fault.

Understanding Postnatal Depression

Postnatal depression can happen to absolutely anyone, whether it’s your first baby or your third, whether you had a difficult birth or not, whether you’ve had mental health struggles before or this is all completely new.

The mind and body go through immense changes in early motherhood. Sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, identity changes, relationship pressures, and the sheer responsibility of caring for a new life can all take a toll on your emotional wellbeing.

When the brain becomes overwhelmed, it can get stuck in a cycle of negative thinking and heightened emotional responses leading to low mood, anxiety, guilt, and a loss of confidence. It’s incredibly common. And most importantly, it’s treatable.

How Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Can Help

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy offers a gentle, empowering approach to postnatal wellbeing. It doesn’t focus on what’s “wrong” with you. It doesn’t ask you to relive traumatic moments or dig into painful memories. Instead, it focuses on where you are now and where you’d like to be.

We work together to gradually shift the mind out of survival mode and back into a calmer, more balanced space. Through positive conversation and guided hypnosis, we help quiet the noise of guilt, fear, and overwhelm so you can reconnect with your strength, your confidence, and yourself.

This approach gently encourages your brain to create new, more supportive thought patterns. And with each session, you start to feel a little lighter, a little stronger, a little more like you again.

What Does a Session Look Like?

Each session is calm, kind, and completely focused on you. We talk about what’s been well that previous week (even if it’s something small, like making a cup of tea or stepping outside), and explore the brain to understand why you feel the way that you do, then we look at what small step or goal you may be able to work towards over that next week if you were to feel that little bit better in yourself.

You’ll then be guided into a deeply relaxing trance state which helps your brain absorb and reinforce these positive shifts at a subconscious level. It’s a moment of stillness in your week, where your mind can reset and your nervous system can breathe. A time for yourself, without your new bundle of joy, it is your self-care hour for that week that you truly deserve to help you feel better, even if it is a gradual process.

You don’t need to “have it all together.” You just need a safe space to start feeling better. That’s what I’m here to offer.
